Bojack and Sarah are about to leave when he is accidentally revealed to Penny, thus re-opening her past emotional wounds. ![]() In “That’s Too Much, Man,” Bojack goes to try and apologize to Penny, fearing he has scarred her for life, only to find herself content and having moved on from him. In the previous season’s episode “Escape From L.A.” after Bojack found out from Olivia that she could never love him as he loved her, Bojack got drunk and almost committed statutory rape on her then-underage daughter Penny. The most shocking of these bizarre and awkward encounters is when the two of them go to the college where Penny (voiced by Ilana Glazer), the daughter of Bojack’s ex-friend Olivia is attending. Sarah tags along with Bojack as he spends the rest of the episode trying to make “amends” to everyone he has hurt, from his former Oscar campaign manager, to his former agent, to new former best friends. They later go to an AA meeting so that she could get her nine-month chip, only for Bojack to crash the meeting by trying to “top” everyone else’s stories with his own disturbing experiences. Bojack convinces Sarah Lynn to go on an epic bender with him, and she does so. ![]() Having recently gone sober, she receives a call from Bojack who is dealing with having lost all his friends and finding out that he really hadn’t been nominated for an Oscar. As Sarah Lynn, Schaal portrays a washed-up singer and actress addicted to sex, booze, and drugs, who used to look up to the main character of Bojack Horseman (voiced by Will Arnett) back when she was his child co-star on the fictional TV show “Horsin’ Around.” In Schaal’s episode submitted to the Emmys, “That’s Too Much, Man,” her character starts off the episode by waking up one morning singing a cute and comical song.
